FecalSwab™ - for collection, transport and preservation of enteric pathogens.

Copan FecalSwab™ is intended to collect fecal specimens and preserve enteric pathogenic bacteria's viability during transport to the testing laboratory.

2 ml of modified Cary Blair medium maintains viability of enteric bacteria micro-organisms viability maintained for 48 hours at room temperature or 72 hours at refrigerated temperature (2 - 8°C).
Advanced nylon FLOQSwabs^® can be used for rectal collection or feces sampling.
Molded breakpoint allows easy snap of the shaft into the tube.
Capture cap docks the end of the swabstick and secures it into the cap.
An aliquot of the specimen can be easily transferred from the FecalSwab™ into a selective enrichment Selenite broth for salmonella isolation.
