FecalSwab™ - for collection, transport and preservation of enteric pathogens.
Copan FecalSwab™ is intended to collect fecal specimens and preserve enteric pathogenic bacteria's viability during transport to the testing laboratory.
- 2 ml of modified Cary Blair medium maintains viability of enteric bacteria micro-organisms viability maintained for 48 hours at room temperature or 72 hours at refrigerated temperature (2 - 8°C).
- Advanced nylon FLOQSwabs® can be used for rectal collection or feces sampling.
- Molded breakpoint allows easy snap of the shaft into the tube.
- Capture cap docks the end of the swabstick and secures it into the cap.
- An aliquot of the specimen can be easily transferred from the FecalSwab™ into a selective enrichment Selenite broth for salmonella isolation.
