Our collaboration with GBO is special to us, and not just because we have been working together for many years. Discover the 4 reasons why we are making history with this partnership:

1) Learning from Each Other

It’s a great collaboration: we learn from them and they learn from us.
MLS manages to convince many customers to adopt barcoding. This means that one unique barcode is inextricably linked to one individual, which is a huge benefit for safety, as samples cannot be switched manually. This completely eliminates errors and also results in significant efficiency gains.
We notice that GBO is putting a lot of effort into implementing a lot of effort to implement this switch across the international market as well.

2) Clear Collaboration

Our collaboration runs smoothly thanks to the provisional delivery schedule we receive from GBO on Tuesdays and Fridays. This provides us with a clear view of what will be delivered, allowing us to optimally organise our stock management and address any shortages proactively. Additionally, we have internal contacts for samples, delivery follow-up, and technical documentation, which makes communication smooth and efficient.

3) Shared Standards and Values

The standards and values that characterise GBO are quite similar to those of MLS. Over the years, our collaboration has truly evolved into a partnership:   
  • Innovative Partner: From plastic blood collection tubes to safety blood needles, GBO leads the way in innovation.   
  • Focus on Ecology: Using solar panels and reducing packaging where possible are just two examples of how much they prioritise ecology.   
  • Short Communication Lines: In addition to the purchasing department, Jessy Leroy from Customer Service experiences the benefits weekly. “The short communication lines with GBO are really crucial for organising our stock management optimally.”   
  • Proactivity: Anticipating problems together before they arise.

4) Unique collaboration start-up

In 1999, Wilmer profiled MLS as a distributor of the blood collection range for GBO during a visit by the then CEO. The extensive range of blood tubes and needles provides a tailored solution for every patient or type of test. We had to prove ourselves, as GBO Belgium was responsible for the distribution of this range up until that point.
Thanks to our efforts, the evaluation after 12 months was clear: GBO’s blood collection products were sold three times more compared to their previous sales in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Since then, MLS has been working with GBO as an independent distributor on a growth story in which innovation, ecology, and problem-solving are central.
