Screw caps for Duran^® lab flasks

The blue standard screw cap exists as well in green, yellow and grey and is always available with a pouring ring in the corresponding colour. The use of coloured caps is an ideal means to make a distinction between the different reactives. At a single glance, the difference between the liquids is observed, even if the flasks are opened.

The screw cap with sealable ring ensures a safe storage of the flask’s content, especially for valuable or dangerous liquids. To close the glass lab flask, the cap has to be placed on the flask: after hearing a light “click”, the plastic ring is attached to the flask’s neck. When the screw cap is opened for the first time, the perforation is released. In this manner, one can see very simply that the screw cap was opened.

A combination of pressure and connections

How does it work?

This screw cap allows to fill three stations from one reservoir at the same time. A sterile pressure division system can be positioned at the fourth exit. By means of a M8 screw cap with opening and inserts (with and without openings in different diameters), hoses with a diameter of 1,6 and 3,2 mm can be used. Unused exits can be shut with a silicone insert without opening or used as septum to add yet something later on.

By building up over- or underpressure, liquids can be pumped in and out of flasks. An extra membrane filter (0,2 µm) ensures a sterile pressure division on one of the exits. By the diversity of materials and the used chemicals, there are no hoses supplied.
