Homocysteine is a sensitive parameter that requires the greatest care from the time of blood collection. In principle, the sample should be taken quickly and cooled in the laboratory so that the natural degradation of the substance can be reduced to a minimum and therefore does not affect the clinical picture.
The Vacuette® Homocysteine Detection Tube has been specially developed for the storage of this sensitive parameter. The specially developed stabilizer (based on citrate compounds) ensures that homocysteine values remain stable at room temperature for up to 6 hours. This can even be as long as 72 hours if the sample is stored at 4°C.
